TAMPA — OSI Restaurant Partners, parent of Outback Steakhouse, hired former Best Buy executive David Deno as its executive vice president and CFO.

“David is a seasoned global executive with extensive finance, operations and business development experience and will be an excellent addition to the executive leadership team,” Tampa-based OSI Chairman and CEO Liz Smith said in a release. “We're committed to expanding our world class team to accelerate our long-term growth strategy.”

Deno has worked in the hospitality industry for nearly 30 years, and has held leadership roles in corporate finance for two decades. The most recent post was with Best Buy, where since 2009 he was president of the Asia stores and CFO of the chain's international unit. Deno's career stops prior to Best Buy include PepsiCo, Pillsbury and Pizza Hut. “I'm looking forward to joining one of the largest casual dining restaurant companies in the world and building upon the company's positive momentum,” Deno said in the release.

OSI's restaurant holdings include Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Roy's. It has more than 1,400 restaurants spread through 49 states and 21 countries and territories.
