TAMPA — Oragenics Inc. (symbol: ORNI), a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Tampa, announced this week that President and CEO David Hirsch had resigned.
Hirsch left the company on amicable terms, a release said, effective Feb. 4. He will now move on in pursuit of other professional opportunities.
Oragenics' chief financial officer, Brian Bohunicky, will take on the responsibilities of the chief executive, serving as interim CEO until a replacement is found.
The company also has a new chairman of the board in place: Frederick Telling replaces Christine Koski, who recently became CEO of nMetric LLC, a software company.
Oragenics landed a distribution deal with GNC in September.
