SARASOTA — Obscene Jeans Corp., a Sarasota-based apparel company, is creating a new social media division within its business called Obscene Interactive.

The new business unit will seek to “acquire or partner with emerging social media companies that exhibit market growth potential,” according to CEO Rachel Stark-Cappelli.

“Social media solutions are becoming big business, and that represents a tremendous opportunity for OBJE,” Stark-Cappelli says in a release.

Obscene Interactive will also build and manage pay-per-click advertising campaigns, as well as email marketing campaigns, the release says.

Stark-Cappelli became CEO of Obscene Jeans Corp. in September. Her company was featured in a July issue of the Gulf Coast Business Review (see “Denim Divas,” July 29).
