MANATEE — Trojan Florida Powder Coating, the subsidiary of a building materials firm headquartered in New York, plans to open a facility in Manatee, says a release from the Manatee County Economic Development Council.

The Manatee EDC offered $18,000 in incentives to lure the company to the area. This is in addition to $72,000 that will be provided by the Florida's Qualified Target Industry Tax Refund.

The incentive package is being dispersed under wage and hiring restrictions. In order to qualify, Trojan must hire 30 new employees over the next three years and pay the new hires about $33,000, the release says.

The company plans to start operations at a 97,000-square-foot Manatee plant by November, says Trojan President Carl Troiano in the release.
