North Port EDC retains board

NORTH PORT — The North Port Economic Development Corp. announced today that its current advisory board will stay in place for 2013.

The EDC is private nonprofit organization with a mission to recruit businesses and jobs to the city, in south Sarasota County. Its board meets quarterly, according to the release, and advises the EDC on strategy and planning. Advisory board members are senior executives or business owners.

“We have had a great working relationship with the board in 2012 and their advice and council have helped guide us through our first and very productive year of operation,” incoming EDC chair Robert Rosenberg says in the release. “It is a pleasure and an honor to serve with this group of professionals.”

The board members for 2013 are:
• Dave Dignam, owner, Key Agency
• Ted Ehrlichman, chief operating officer, Suncoast Workforce
• Susan Flagel, Flagel Pediatric & Family Medicine
• Scott Greer, regional president, BB&T Bank
• Timothy Hensey, vice president, Gilbane Building Company
• Darren Inverso, partner, Norton, Hammersley, Lopez'¨• Stephen Johnson, vice president, Harvard Jolly Architecture'¨• Angela Massaro-Fain, owner/founder, Grapevine Communications
• Gene Matthews, retired, real estate/insurance
• Tom Rice, CEO, Fawcett Memorial Hospital
• Beth Wilson, owner, TaxSavers
• John Wiseman, president CORE Construction
• Peter Wozniak, CEO, Venice Regional Medical Center
