Raffles Gunn as vice chair
The Florida Supreme Court has appointed Tracy Raffles Gunn as vice chair of its committee on standard jury instructions in civil cases.
Raffles Gunn, a board certified appellate attorney, is a shareholder at Fowler White Boggs Banker PA, Tampa.
GrayRobinson hires three
partners for Tampa office
Charles Klug Jr., Ron S. Reed and Mark E. Williams are new partners at GrayRobinson PA, Tampa.
Klug is board certified in the areas of real estate and city, county and local government law. He was previously a shareholder in the Tampa office of Ruden McClosky Smith Schuster & Russell PA.
Reed, formerly a South Tampa solo practitioner, is a board certified marital and family law attorney.
Williams focuses on transactional and wealth preservation matters with an emphasis on international and domestic taxation. He was a shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale office of Becker & Poliakoff PA.
Tampa Crossroads elects
Suzette Marteny to board
Suzette Marteny, an associate at Tampa's Carlton Fields PA, has been elected to serve on the Tampa Crossroads board of directors. The nonprofit group serves non-violent offenders.
Marteny, an intellectual property attorney, also agreed to serve two volunteer roles as a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
As a member of the group's Young Lawyer's Division, Marteny agreed to serve as liaison to the parent group's trademark litigation committee.
In addition, she volunteered through the Young Lawyer's Division to serve as a judge at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Ariz.
Million-dollar club admits
trial lawyer Pete Cardillo
The Million Dollar Advocates Forum recently certified and admitted Tampa solo practitioner Pete Cardillo as a member.
The group restricts membership to those attorneys who have won verdicts, awards or settlements of at least $1 million.
A Columbia Law School graduate, Cardillo focuses on termite litigation.
Judge Susan Schaeffer earns
spot in Stetson Hall of Fame
The Stetson University College of Law recently inducted retired Pinellas-Pasco Chief Judge Susan Schaeffer into its Hall of Fame.
Schaeffer, a 1971 Stetson graduate, served 22 years as a judge. She was the 6th Circuit's first female chief judge and the first chief judge in the circuit to serve three consecutive terms.
The honor also recognizes her work as chair of the Supreme Court's Trial Court Budget Commission, the group that proposed funding for implementation of Revision 7 to Article V of the state Constitution.
