CAPE CORAL — Wicked Dolphin now produces and sells rum that's been aged for three years in bourbon barrels.

“We have worked on Wicked Dolphin Gold Reserve since we started making rum in 2012,” says JoAnn Elardo, owner of the company, in a statement. “Our rum is aged for a full 3 years in bourbon barrels which gives us unique deep whiskey notes for one of the best Gold Rums on the market.”

The Wicked Dolphin Gold Reserve Rum is made with Florida sugarcane and the heat and humidity in Southwest Florida leads to a faster aging process, which allows for a more mature taste, Elardo says.

Wicked Dolphin Gold Reserve costs $32.99 per bottle. Gold Reserve is available at the Cape Coral distillery or through Republic National Distributing.
