Bank of Florida Corp. named Joe Cox its newest chief executive officer on Friday. Cox had been a member of the Naples bank's board of directors since 1998. Cox also serves as a senior partner at Cox & Nici P.A.

In the same filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that announced the appointment, the Naples company said that three members of its board of directors have elected to resign. Those individuals are LaVonne Johnson, Michael L. McMullan, and Tracy L. Keegan.

In May, three Bank of Florida subsidiaries were shut down by state regulators, and purchased by EverBank, as detailed in a June issue of the Business Review.
