PARRISH — Lakewood Ranch-based homebuilder Neal Communities has broken ground on Canoe Creek, a new neighborhood in Parrish.

The 304-acre property in Manatee County will have about 621 home sites, according to a press release.

Homes in the neighborhood will have American coastal and modern farmhouse-style designs. The 13  floor plans in the community range from 1,493 to 3,346 square feet.

The community will have an amenity center with a clubhouse, fitness room, pool and spa, four pickleball courts and a dog park nearby.

The Canoe Creek land has been owned by Neal Communities for over 10 years and has been operating as the Palmetto Pines Golf Course. Palmetto Pines has an 18-hole golf course and a sandwich shop. During construction, nine holes of the golf course and the sandwich shop will stay open.

“Canoe Creek will offer a valuable alternative to Lakewood Ranch and the Sarasota real estate marketplace,” says Neal Communities President Michael Storey in a statement. “Situated near great shopping and several city centers, Parrish is becoming an increasingly popular location.”

Canoe Creek is near Fort Hamer Road and Upper Manatee River Road. It is expected to open in fall 2018.

Neal Communities has over 70 communities in Southwest Florida.
