TAMPA — National construction management firm Suffolk promoted Ben Wilson to vice president of operations. Wilson will work closely with Suffolk’s Gulf Coast COO Josh Christensen to provide leadership for the company's Gulf Coast region, which extends from Southwest Florida to Tampa.

Wilson joined Suffolk in 2015 as a project manager and quickly rose through the ranks to project executive and to his new role, where he will oversee over $200 million in projects from Naples to Tampa, according to a statement. These projects include the Manor Riverwalk, a high-rise luxury building on the site of the former Tampa Tribune building.

“Ben has been an integral part of Suffolk’s growth and expansion throughout the Gulf Coast of Florida,” says Suffolk President and General Manager Pete Tuffo in the release. “His experience, insights and commitment to our Build Smart philosophy will help us continue to grow in this region and provide exceptional value and service to our clients.”

Wilson, 33, is one of the youngest vice presidents at the $3.5 billion company. He is a 13-year veteran of the construction industry, is LEED accredited, OSHA certified and a certified building contractor with the state of Florida, the release states.

Suffolk is a privately held company with offices in Boston, New York City, Miami, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Estero, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego, serving clients in health care, science and technology, education, federal government, gaming, aviation and commercial sectors.
