NAPLES -- Paradise Coast TV, a local media company, will produce high-definition video teasers for the local coupon deals offered by BlocDeals, a Groupon competitor based in Naples.

Paradise Coast TV is operated by Cecily and Larry Lancit (see "TV in Paradise", May 6, 2011
). The couple produced a pair of popular shows -- Reading Rainbow and Backyard Safari -- for PBS before selling their company and moving to Naples in 2002. Today, the company operates the Visitor Channel, which delivers high-definition video to 5,000 area hotel rooms.

BlocDeals launched in late 2010, offering discounts on local products through email (see "What a Deal", Nov. 18, 2011). Partners Dan Sexton, Robert Desiano and Ron Klein say they have already reached 15,000 registered users with deal offers since opening their doors.

At one point last year, the combined companies were generating roughly $300,000 in annualized sales.
