FORT MYERS — American Oncology Network, an alliance of physicians and seasoned health care leaders building a national network of community oncology practices, named onetime investment banker Nathan Walcker chief financial officer.

Prior to AON, Walcker was a member of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s health care investment banking group in New York, where he advised health care companies on mergers, acquisitions and capital structure strategies. He began his career on the trading floor at Merrill Lynch, according to a statement.

“Nathan’s extensive background in the health care sector, particularly with mergers and acquisitions, will be of immense value to us as we continue to join with a growing number of providers dedicated to providing world-class medicine and hometown care in their communities,” American Oncology CEO Brad Prechtl says in the statement.

American Oncology Network, based in Fort Myers, was founded in 2017 and now represents more than 45 physicians and over ten nurse practitioners/physician assistants practicing across seven states.
