CLEARWATER — Med Tech Services, a provider of home health care services, announced it will change its name to Senior Home Care as of Jan. 1.

In 2003, Med Tech was acquired by Clearwater-based Senior Home Care Inc. Chief Executive Officer Robert Fusco says the name change will help the company unify its brand identity throughout Florida, where the company has 29 branches.

“Changing the trade name from Med Tech Services to Senior Home Care will not alter our staff or services to patients or referring physicians,” Fusco says in a release. “The company has not been sold and our ownership and management remains the same. There will be no interruption of service to patients.” Fusco adds that operating under one name will help the firm streamline compliance and marketing.

Med Tech Services has approximately 200 nurses, clinicians and office staff in four branches covering from Indian River County to Miami-Dade County. It has provide home health services for patients in Southeast Florida for more than 20 years, according to the release.

Senior Home Care also owns Synergy Home Care, which provides home health services in Louisiana. The company says Synergy's name will remain the same because it operates in a geographically separate area.
