FORT MYERS — A 15-year veteran of public housing has been appointed to executive director of the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers. Marcia Davis returns to Fort Myers from Richmond, Va., where for the past six years she was chief real estate officer of the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority. Prior to that post, she was director of real estate development for the Fort Myers housing agency from 2006 to 2013.
“Marcia’s experience in affordable housing and her success in building relationships with governmental entities, community organizations and residents uniquely positions her with seasoned leadership abilities and dedication to the residents she serves,” says E. Bruce Strayhorn, chairman of the board of trustees for the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers. “She will definitely be an asset with her commitment of public trust and transparency and her ability to tailor and implement programs according to the needs of the community and developing innovative concepts to provide affordable housing options and resident programs.”
While in Richmond, Davis managed all aspects of the city’s real estate and community development programs. She has designed and managed several complex affordable housing redevelopments and is experienced with administering HUD programs including Rental Assistance Demonstration programs, Capital Funds, CDBG, HOPE VI implementation and utilization of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit.
