FORT MYERS — The Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association, based in Fort Myers, recently named Rob Harris executive director. Harris will remain executive director of the Sarasota-Manatee Manufacturers Association, a role he was appointed to in February.

In his role with SRMA, Harris will focus on the continued growth of the association, manufacturing and membership, according to a statement. He will work to connect regional manufacturers with the valued resources and tools necessary to succeed, and continue hosting monthly events that focus on education, plant tours, CEO roundtables and networking socials.

Harris is no stranger to manufacturing. He has spent nearly his entire career working in various leadership, sales and marketing positions within the industry, most recently as the director of supply chain and IT at Teakdecking Systems in Sarasota. Prior to that he was COO of Sun Graphic Technologies Inc. and a board member at SAMA. He was named part-time interim executive director at SAMA in June 2019, and was then given the title officially in February.

“I am excited about the future of manufacturing in Florida and look forward to connecting with existing and future SRMA members in the weeks and months ahead,” says Harris in the statement.

The purpose and objective of the Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association is to bring together manufacturers to encourage the economic development of Southwest Florida through manufacturing, and to act as a forum for the expression and exchange of ideas and information among its members.
