VENICE — Window and door manufacturer PGT Innovations recently hosted a career fair for over 100 open positions that was attended by about 230 candidates.
At the fair, held Sept. 15, PGT made 128 offers to candidates, according to a press release. Current PGT employees referred almost 50% of those 128 applicants, the release adds. New team members are eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus.
Available positions were in manufacturing, driving, loading, maintenance and other areas.
“With labor in short supply and companies vying for job seekers’ attention, we knew we needed to do something to stand out to potential candidates and attract talented individuals,” says PGT Innovations Senior Vice President of Human Resources Debbie LaPinska in the statement. “The sign-on bonus certainly helped to generate excitement, but we were truly thrilled to see how many people were referred by our team members. We’ve put a great deal of effort into creating a work environment that offers many benefits and opportunities for our team members, and it is a wonderful compliment that they would refer their family members and friends to join our team.”
PGT Innovations employs over 2,000 team members at its Venice location.
