Manatee small business winners announced

BRADENTON — The Manatee Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of its annual small business awards on May 22.

Out of 114 nominations, the winners were chosen from among 16 finalists. The awards recognize small businesses for quality and excellence exemplified by growth, productivity, customer service, job creation and community contributions, according to a statement from the chamber.

The awards were judged by Steve Litschauer, of S2 Timing; David Spire, of United Systems Computer Group, Inc.; Larry Woodham, of Bunker Hill Vineyard & Winery; and Carole Zoellner, of Dieter's Sod & Landscaping.

The 2014 winners are:

Manatee Green Business of the Year Award Winner
Anna Maria Historic Green Village, Lizzie Vann and Mike Thrasher
 
Small Business of the Year Award Winner Under $500,000
Leadership Simplified, Doug Van Dyke
 
Small Business of the Year Award Winner Under $1.5 million
Duncan Real Estate, Darcie Duncan

Small Business of the Year Award Winner Under $3 million
Gator Air Conditioning Inc., Michael Wick, Jarrod Falk, Jim Pomroy and Jimmy Romagnola
 
Small Business of the Year Award Winner Over $3 million
Grapevine Communications International Inc., Angela Massaro-Fain & John Fain
