TAMPA -- MagneGas Corp., an alternative fuel producer, will soon begin producing and selling its new product in Michigan.

The Tampa-based firm leased a new space in Rochester Hills, Mich., according to a company statement, and has invested in a “50 kWh mobile refinery,” used for on-site production demonstrations to attract new customers.

MagneGas uses its patented Plasma Arc Flow technology to generate a hydrogen-based fuel from liquid waste. The fuel, which it calls MagneGas, can be used as an alternative to natural gas for heating, cooking and metal working, the company says.

The company raised $3.1 million through a private placement in early November.
