At a time when Florida's governor has fallen under President Barack Obama's big-spending spell, one politician hasn't been entranced by stimulus siren song.

U.S. Rep. Connie Mack, who represents the area that stretches from Port Charlotte to Naples, became the first congressman to call for the ouster of U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner this week. Mack has been a staunch opponent of the financial bailout bills, voting against each one from the start.

Whether you agree or not, Mack is standing firm against the growing tide of Obama Republicans such as Florida Gov. Charlie Crist. Mack's call for Geithner's ouster on March 18 was the talk of Washington and landed him on business talk shows, including the Kudlow Report on CNBC and Neil Cavuto on Fox News.

“Quite simply, the Timothy Geithner experience has been a disaster,” Mack says in a statement. It's stating the obvious, but someone had to say it.
