FORT MYERS — A group of hotel general managers and owners in the Fort Myers area came together to create the Lee County Hotel Association this week. The group has received its incorporation status from the state of Florida, a release says, and is waiting on approval for non-profit status.

Jim Larkin, general manager of the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fort Myers, will lead the group as the association's first president. “The LHCA will act as a voice of its membership for the purpose of communicating issues that affect our industry to all governmental agencies,” Larkin says of the group's purpose.

The LHCA will hold monthly meetings, the first of which is scheduled for Sept. 14 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. For hotel professionals interested in learning more, Larkin can be reached via email, at [email protected].
