Roughly one out of every 190 residential properties in Lee and Charlotte counties was entered into the foreclosure process in October, according to the newest estimates from RealtyTrac, giving the two-county area one of the highest rates for new filings based on total residential properties.
Combined, 2,510 properties in those two counties were entered into foreclosure last month, including 1,922 Lee properties.
Relative to the number of existing housing units within the county, Pinellas saw the fewest new foreclosure filings in October, with one out of every 411 homes entering the foreclosure process, with 1,134 new foreclosures.
Across the region, 7,762 properties were entered into the foreclosure process last month, RealtyTrac estimates.
