Share
This is the fourth year the community has been recognized by Ideal-Living magazine.

For the fourth year in a row, Lakewood Ranch was recognized in Ideal-Living, a Southern living and real estate magazine.

This year, the community found its name on The Top 100 Planned Communities list, which is part of the magazine’s “Best Places to Live” summer issue.

“Each year we survey our readers to determine the most popular destinations and amenities,” Kelly Godbey, editor of Ideal-Living, says in a news release. “Most of our readers are looking to escape high taxes and find a better climate and quality of life. The destinations featured in this special issue are representative of those desires.”

Last year, Lakewood Ranch was recognized by Ideal-Living as a Top 100 community. The year before that the community was listed on the Best Health and Fitness Community category due to its wellness-centered master planning, recreational amenities and health-conscious lifestyle program. It was also recognized in the Best Wellness Community category in 2019.

“We are thrilled to again be named as one of the Top 100 Planned Communities by Ideal-Living,” Sandy Shahinian, vice president of LWR Communities, says in a statement. “The Ranch has all the qualities and conveniences of an established town with the added benefit of countless amenities and activities.”

Shahinian pointed to the lifestyle within the community that includes more than 60 clubs, a parks and recreation program, and sports leagues. She also made note of the community’s access to 150 miles of trails, nine community parks, the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund.

Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers, Wellen Park in Venice, Babcock Ranch and The Isles of Collier Preserve in Naples were mentioned on the list as well.
