LAKEWOOD RANCH — Lakewood Ranch homebuilders have sold 173 properties so far in 2011, up 240% from last year's total. And the 16,000 visitors to Lakewood Ranch information centers and models represent a 60% over-the-year increase, according to a release from the community.
David Parker, a consultant with Parker & Associates, attributes the growth in sales to an aggressive investment strategy throughout Lakewood Ranch.
“While most developers across the state and nation were adopting a wait-and-see attitude, Lakewood Ranch and its builders adopted an aggressive posture,” Parker says. “(They developed) new lots and model homes in existing villages and created two new villages with a wider variety of model homes and amenities.”
Milt Flinn, president of LWR Communities, expects to end the year with 400 new home sales throughout Lakewood Ranch.
