PLANS, DESCRIPTION:
Lakeland Regional Health purchased 100 acres of land in northern Bartow for $7.5 million.
The price equated to $75,000 per acre.
The hospital is still developing its final plans for the site, but expects to create a freestanding emergency department, satellite cancer services and physician offices.
Lakeland Regional Health officials had not replied to requests for additional information as of deadline.
Lakeland Regional Health operates the 851-bed Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.
