NAPLES — First National Bank of the Gulf Coast appointed Brian Keenan as its regional president for West and Central Florida. Keenan will help expand the bank into Tampa Bay, a release says, and in the future will look to grow into Sarasota/Bradenton and Orlando as well.

Keenan comes to First National from Fifth Third Bank, where he served as affiliate president for the Tampa Bay market. Keenan resigned from that position in May.

In April, First National Bank of the Gulf Coast raised $148 million from a private placement, $40 million of which was immediately made available for internal growth. Gary Tice is the bank's chairman and CEO, and Garrett Richter is president. For more information on First National Bank of the Gulf Coast's growth plan, read “Capital Battle,” May 19.

Headquartered in Naples, First National Bank of the Gulf Coast manages $368 million in assets. The bank currently operates three branch locations in Collier and Lee counties.
