FORT MYERS — Interop Technologies will partner with Bichara Technologia to provide wireless technology solutions to consumers in Brazil.

Fort Myers-based Interop provides short message service (SMS), multimedia message service (MMS) and wireless application protocol (WAP) solutions to its clients. Earlier this year, the firm partnered with Texas-based West Central Wireless to offer services; last year, it joined up with SouthernLINC in the Atlanta area. Its Short Message Service Center can deliver 100,000 messages per second, one of the world's fastest rates.

At the beginning of 2010, Interop Technologies employed 100 workers in the Fort Myers area (see “TXT MSG 4 $,” March 4, 2010). Since then, the company has opened an operations center in Dallas, and also operates offices in Hong Kong.

Interop is led by John Dwyer, who co-founded the company with his father, James. The older Dwyer died in August, at the age of 73.
