FORT MYERS — Interop Technologies partnered with West Central Wireless, a company based in San Angelo, Texas, to provide West Central's customers with messaging service through Interop's Multimedia Message Service Center solution. West Central customers will have access to the latest in mobile messaging technology through the partnership with Interop.

In general, carriers refer to standard text messaging service as short message service, or SMS, while mobile-to-mobile messages with pictures, sounds or videos attached are referred to as multimedia messaging service (MMS). West Central customers will now have access to both SMS and MMS.

West Central Wireless manages a cellular network covering 18 counties in Texas. The company also provides services to larger coverage networks through partnerships with other carriers.

Interop Technologies is a cellular service technology company based in Fort Myers. The firm reached a deal similar to today's arrangement last October, when Interop partnered with SouthernLINC Wireless.
