NAPLES — William Truog was named interim executive director of The Humane Society Naples.

Most recently, Truog was regional advancement officer for major gifts at Kent State University. Previously he was president and CEO of The Waterford Group Inc. He also served as vice president of sales and marketing and vice president of operations for Duracote Corp., according to a press release.

“The Humane Society Naples' board of directors is confident that Bill's 40-year career in management coupled with his extensive education and fundraising experience will help us strengthen and lead the organization while we continue our national search for our permanent executive director," says Kevin Deardorff, president of The Humane Society Naples' board of directors, in a statement.

The Humane Society Naples was founded in 1960. It is a no-kill, cage-free shelter.
