SARASOTA — Habitat for Humanity Sarasota announced three new board members.
The new members include:
• Lisa Krouse, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at FCCI Insurance Group;
• David Langhout, vice president of land acquisition at Kolter Land Partners;
• Stephen Sutter, founder of Sutter Roofing.
The volunteer workforce at Habitat for Humanity, an organization that works to “provide decent, affordable housing for people in need so they may build better lives for their families,” according to a statement, provides an average of 3,000 labor hours per home, reducing construction costs by up to 30%.
Habitat Sarasota homebuyers are selected based on a number of factors, including housing needs, a willingness to complete at least 300 volunteer hours, participation in homebuyer classes and ability to pay back a zero-interest home loan, the statement says.
