ST. PETERSBURG — Joseph Mullany has been appointed regional president and CEO of Bayfront Health, a regional health care network serving the residents of Florida's Gulf Coast along the Interstate 75 corridor.

According to a press release, the newly created role involves the strategic development of Bayfront Health and management support for the network's hospitals. The network includes seven hospitals in the region, from Brooksville through Venice.

“Looking across the network, we see a number of opportunities to enhance care delivery and expand access to services,” Mullany states in the release. “Building a more cohesive network will allow us to accelerate strategic priorities to the benefit of our patients and the communities we serve.”

Mullany comes to Bayfront from Detroit Medical Center, an eight-hospital academic health system, where he served as president and CEO.
