For the third time in the past year, Pat Neal, one of the most active homebuilders on the Gulf Coast, has a hired away a top executive from another company.

The most recent addition to Lakewood Ranch-based Neal Communities is Michael Storey, who was recently hired to run the building division of the company's new and existing home developments. Storey has worked for three large homebuilders in Florida, including the last 10 years with Taylor Morrison in Tampa, where he was a division president.

At Taylor Morrison, Storey oversaw the company's closings division and worked on land acquisition deals. Before Taylor Morrison, Storey worked in executive roles for two separate developers and builders in Orlando.

Storey will join John Collier and David Hunihan at Neal Communities.

Collier runs Neal Signature Pools, a new division the firm launched last October. Collier previously ran his own pool company in Apollo Beach and before that was an executive with Kimball Hill Homes.

Hunihan, meanwhile, was hired by Neal Communities to run its sales division last May. Hunihan co-founded Fidelity homes in Sarasota in 2000 and before that he ran the sales division for Lakewood Ranch-based Lee Wetherington Homes.
