FORT MYERS — Home-Tech, an appliance retailer, will hire 13 employees to man its new facility in Manatee County, which is currently under construction.

The company is building a 10,400-square-foot office, showroom and employee training facility in East Manatee County, and plans to spend $1.3 million to build its new location. Construction is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2010, the statement explains.

Lakewood Ranch-based World Designs Inc. was hired as the project's architect, while Allison Engineering in Bradenton completed necessary land development.

Founded in Fort Myers in 1981, Home-Tech employs more than 130 workers today, and reaches customers in Sarasota, Manatee, Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties.

The Business Review first reported on Home-Tech's planned expansion in August (see “Insurance Fix,” Aug. 11).
