Health system, hospice name board of trustees officers

SARASOTA — Tidewell Hospice and parent company Stratum Health System have named 2020-21 officers of the board of trustees for each organization.

Jan Miller, who completed her second term on the Tidewell Hospice board as its chair, has been named the chair of the Stratum Health System board of trustees, according to a statement. Miller is the executive vice president and Sarasota manager of Caldwell Trust Co.

Other Stratum board officers for 2020-21 are Vice Chair Steve Hall, employee benefits broker/market president at Alltrust Insurance; Treasurer Thomas Stuhley, retired banker; and Secretary Kevin Logan, businessman.

Stratum is governed by an eight-member board of community leaders. The Stratum Health System family of companies includes Tidewell Hospice; Connexis Medical Services, which provides primary and palliative care as well as physician services; Avidity Home Health, a Medicare-approved skilled-care provider; and Approved Home Health, which offers skilled and private-duty services.

Founded in 1980, Tidewell Hospice is governed by a 14-member board of community leaders. For 2020-21, Kevin Logan has been named the chair of the Tidewell board of trustees. Other officers include Vice Chair Matt Mayper, an attorney and shareholder with the firm Fergeson Skipper PA; Treasurer Kimberlie Buchanan, business development executive for Carr, Riggs & Ingram; and Secretary Renee Eppard, retired real estate broker.

Chairs of both boards will serve two-year terms that run through 2022, the release states.

Stratum Health System was created to oversee and support the missions of Tidewell Hospice, Tidewell Foundation, Approved Home Health, Avidity Home Health, Connexis Medical Services and SCATA Real Estate LLC. Tidewell Hospice is a nonprofit providing care for more than 10,000 patients annually throughout its four-county service area of Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties.
