HCP Inc., one of the nation's largest health care-oriented real estate companies, has acquired a trio of medical-related properties in Southwest Florida for $53.8 million.

HCP Medical Office Buildings LLC bought two Naples hospitals that had been Health Management Associates facilities, a Physicians Regional Medical Center at 6101 Pine Ridge Road and a similar 100-bed hospital at 8300 Collier Blvd.

Combined, the two hospitals fetched $44 million for seller HMA.

HCP also acquired an HMA medical office building associated with Bayfront Health Punta Gorda, at 713 E. Marion Ave. in Punta Gorda.

Officials from the Irvine. Calif.-based real estate investment trust, which was formed in 1985 and today has roughly $25 billion in assets under management, did not return telephone calls for comment regarding the purchases.
