SARASOTA — Habitat for Humanity Sarasota Inc. announced the addition of Jay Berman as major gifts officer.

According to a press release, in the newly created position, Berman is responsible for cultivating donors to support the $7 million fundraising goal toward Lives Transformed: The Campaign for Hammock Place.

“We are pleased to welcome Jay to our Habitat Sarasota team. His relationships within the community will elevate our fundraising initiative toward the Hammock Place neighborhood,” says President and CEO Renee Snyder in the statement.

The Campaign for Hammock Place is an initiative to build a 40-home neighborhood. The campaign's fundraising goal of $7 million was kicked off with a $3 million commitment through a partnership with the Kolter Group and the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.
