BRADENTON -- Greg Green, tax partner and shareholder at Shinn & Co. LLC, is the newest chairman of the Bradenton Downtown Development Authority's board of directors.
The Bradenton DDA uses tax increment financing to improve the commercial and retail environment in Bradenton's downtown area. The group borrows against future gains in tax revenues that result from appreciations in the value of nearby real estate to fund redevelopment efforts.
As the DDA's newest chairman, Green brings 28 years of experience as a certified public accountant to the organization's head. His current firm, Shinn & Co., opened its doors in 1993.
