Florida business owners and executives are giddy going into 2015, according to the results of a recent BMO Harris Bank survey.

To wit: Nine out of 10 respondents believe their business will grow or remain at the same level in 2015 and four out of five feel the Florida economy will improve or stay the same. More than four out of 10 respondents, 43%, think the U.S. economy will improve next year. That last figure is up from 32% in the 2013 year-end survey. The survey, of nearly 800 business owners and executives, was conducted online in September.

“Florida business owners and executives are increasingly optimistic in their ability to grow their business in today's economic environment,” says BMO Harris Bank Florida Business Banking Regional President Dave Maraman in a statement.

There is a yeah, but, to the jolly report. The respondents, while coming off good years, have shifted to an economy less dynamic than other rebounds. “Businesses have begun to adjust to the 'new normal' and are now setting their expectations for more slow and steady growth,” Maraman says. “Several of our clients had their best year since the recession. They just aren't looking for the explosive growth they experienced in the past.”
