The Sarasota County Committee for Economic Development recently held its annual 2004 Excellence in Industry ceremony.
Michael Saunders & Co. received the signature award, Excellence in Industry. Other winners were Al Harris Pest Control for Service Company of the Year, PPI Technologies for Technology Company of the Year and Aladdin Equipment Co. for Manufacturer of the Year. Runner-ups included Fishman & Associates (service), MadahCom Inc. (technology) and Peterson Manufacturing (manufacturer).
Chance for grant seekers
to find available resources
The Nonprofit Resource Center held an information session on using FC Search, the Foundation Center Database and the Internet as tools for grant search. The session helped novice grant seekers and leaders of nonprofit organizations find funding opportunities. This session was prepared for those who are not experts in employment law. It provided guidance in the preparation of human resource policies and supervisory manuals.
New house can withstand
hurricane force winds
Efficient Wall Systems recently released its "Safe Room." The room can withstand 250 mile-per-hour winds, which is 120 miles over the Sarasota and Manatee code requirements. Construction includes steel, reinforced solid concrete walls, poured concrete roof and a reinforced steel door.
