TAMPA — Fox News has secured its broadcast location for the Republican National Convention: the Tampa Bay History Center.

The national news channel has agreed to rent portions of the 60,000-square-foot museum, from which it will broadcast live during the convention Aug. 27-30 in Tampa, according to a news release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The museum, located at 801 Old Water St., across from the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa's downtown Channelside District, will be closed to the public Aug. 21 through Sept. 1.

“This is a great opportunity for the History Center and a great way to highlight the history of our city and our region,” C.J. Roberts, the Frank E. Duckwall President and CEO of the Tampa Bay History Center, says in a release.

The history center has three floors of exhibits displaying 12,000 years of Florida history.
