TAMPA — The St. Pete Times Forum will receive $35 million worth of renovations during the next 12 months, according to officials Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Forum is managed and operated by Lightning Chairman Jeff Vinik, through his company Tampa Bay Sports and Entertainment LLC.
Vinik bought the team in March 2010, and has been planning to make capital improvements to the Forum ever since.
“Jeff made it clear when he purchased the team that the arena needed to see significant upgrades to benefit all of its stakeholders,” said Tod Leiweke, who serves as CEO to both the Forum and the Lightning.
Key renovations will include a renovated entrance on the Forum's west side, a new ticket office and gift shop, seat replacements throughout the arena, and an 11,000-square foot outdoor deck.
Photo renderings of the proposed renovations are available online at the team's website.
