FORT MYERS — Matthew Lessig has been named administrator of The Lodge at Cypress Cove, a skilled nursing and rehabilitations facility in Fort Myers.

Lessig was previously the administrator at the Gulf Coast Medical Center Skilled Nursing Unit, part of Lee Health. He played an instrumental role in the design and startup of that facility, according to a statement, which now has 75 beds. Prior to his role there, Lessig served in several assistant administrative positions within the Lee Health system.

Tim Ficker, executive director of the HealthPark Florida Life Care community of Cypress Cove, calls Lessig, an “excellent leader to fill a critical position” within the 48-acre campus care management structure, the release states. The Lodge offers 64 private suites and registered and licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants provide 24-hour skilled nursing services at the facility.

“We are extremely pleased to have an individual with such experience and credentials,” adds Ficker in the statement. “He strongly believes in the concept of person-centered care and in developing interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care.”

Cypress Cove, founded  in 1999, is a nonprofit Life Plan Community.
