NAPLES — Artis-Naples has appointed retired top banker Heidi Miller and long-time arts benefactor Barbara Trees to its board of directors.
The board is comprised of 33 philanthropists and community leaders who oversee the governance of the organization, which offers visual and performing arts programs including music, film, dance, comedy, lectures and exhibitions featuring internationally acclaimed artists.
“It is a privilege to welcome passionate and dedicated new members to the board of directors,” says Board Chairwoman Kimberly Querrey in a statement.
Miller retired as president of international for JP Morgan Chase & Company in 2012. Previously, she was CEO of JPMorgan Chase’s treasury and security services, leading 35,000 people in 50 countries. She also served as executive vice president and CFO for Bank One Corp. Prior nonprofit service includes NYU Medical Center and the Children’s Defense Fund. She was featured in American Banker's Most Powerful Women rankings from 2003-10, and was No. 1 one on the banking list from 2007 to 2009. In 2008, she topped Crain's list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in New York.
Although Trees began her career in banking, she was the owner/operator of Spencer & Hunt Antiques in Hinsdale, Ill., until 2001. She is an active volunteer, particularly in the interests of children, having served the Robert Crown Center, the Junior League of Chicago and the Hinsdale Community House where she chaired a holiday fundraising event. George and Barbara Trees have been underwriting the Naples Philharmonic’s Principal Tuba, Aaron McCalla, since 2009.
