The Lee Health name is emblazoned on health care facilities throughout Lee County. Starting this fall, it will also be illuminated under Friday night lights.
The hospital system and the Lee County School District have kicked off a five-year partnership with Lee Health securing the naming rights to the football stadium at the new Bonita Springs High School. The stadium will open this fall for the Bull Sharks’ inaugural junior varsity football season. The sponsorship is worth $14,600 per quarter, a total of $292,000 over the five years.
“Lee Health has been a long supporter of The School District of Lee County and we are thrilled to partner with them to name the stadium at the new Bonita Springs High School,” says School District of Lee County Superintendent Greg Adkins. “This affiliation will directly benefit our students and employees and we could not ask for a better ally.”
As part of the agreement, 60% of net proceeds of the naming rights fee will remain at Bonita Springs High. The rest will be available for county-wide use by the school district. The money will be used by the district for capital improvement projects, including safety and security upgrades and technology enhancements.
The agreement is the latest pass completion in a long drive of collaborations between Lee Health and the school district. Adkins sits on the executive committee of Lee Health’s wellness initiative, Healthy Lee. And Lee Health partners with area schools to provide certified nursing assistant training to high school students.
Bonita Springs was also joined by another south Lee County high school stadium in signing a sponsorship deal. Estero-based air conditioning company FAST AC recently bought naming rights to Estero High School’s facility for $32,688 over three years, a $98,064 deal. The field will be named FAST AC Field at Jeff Sommer Stadium, the latter a nod to the school’s late athletic director and cross-country coach.
