TAMPA — Florida Hospital facilities across the state have officially transitioned to the AdventHealth name and brand as part of a plan announced last year by the hospital network’s parent company, Adventist Health System.
The change also affects hundreds of physician practices, urgent care centers and other medical sites across the country, according to a press release.
Headquartered in Altamonte Springs, Fla., AdventHealth boasts nearly 50 hospitals and more than 80,000 employees in nearly a dozen states. The company operates 30 hospitals and freestanding emergency departments in Florida; its west Florida division, ranging from Ocala to Tampa and Lake Placid, includes 10 hospitals, a long-term care facility, three emergency departments and several physician group practices.
“This is an exciting time as we elevate our ability to connect communities with our expanded network of care,” states Mike Schultz, president and CEO of AdventHealth’s west Florida division, in the release. “This name change reinforces our commitment to provide a viable, affordable health care system and to continue our unique brand of inspired, compassionate whole-person care through clinical expertise and leading-edge innovation.”
