SARASOTA — Sarasota County commissioners will consider two economic development incentive proposals worth up to $240,000 at meetings this week.

Both proposals stem from requests from the Sarasota Economic Development Corp. Also, both proposals are to assist with each company's “expenses to retain and expand its existing business in the county,” according to a county statement. Each proposal offers performance-based incentives worth up to $120,000.

The companies aren't named in county documents. One proposal is listed under the code name Project Berry, while the other is Project Sky. The commission meetings are scheduled for Tuesday Jan. 8 and Wednesday Jan. 9, both at 9 a.m. at the commission chambers, 1660 Ringling Blvd., in downtown Sarasota.
