Dunkin' Donuts will soon develop 12 new restaurant locations throughout Southwest Florida, having recently signed new agreements with three franchisees.

David McNulty, already a Dunkin' Donuts franchisee, will develop five new restaurants in Sarasota and Charlotte counties. McNulty's first new location will open by 2012, with the remaining four slated to open by 2016, a release says.

Herb Serpa will open three new locations in south Pinellas by 2014, with the first opening by the end of 2012. And Velocity Brands will open four new restaurants in Manatee County by 2015.

In a statement, Grant Benson, vice president of franchising for Dunkin' Brands Inc., says Florida is “a priority growth market for Dunkin' Donuts in 2011.”

Based in Canton, Mass., Dunkin' Donuts currently operates roughly 9,700 restaurants in 31 countries. The company generated $6 billion in revenues in 2010.
