FORT MYERS — Businesses in the Fort Myers area are scrambling to cash in on the Florida Gulf Coast University basketball team's surprise showing in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.

Bars and restaurants are vying to be the spot to watch the big game tonight between the Eagles and the University of Florida. They've plastered last-minute ads in every local media outlet.

Sporting-goods stores are rushing to stock shirts. Businesses ranging from office-furniture stores to employment agencies are sending out emails, tweets and Facebook posts cheering the team.

Even government bureaucrats are jumping on the bandwagon. The city of Fort Myers' logo on its website now has the #DunkCity hashtag on its masthead and the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau posted videos like this one and this one.
