Doctors Express Tampa opens

The Tampa office will represent the company's 40th location nationwide.

TAMPA -- Doctors Express Tampa is set to open this week, according to a release from the company.

Doctors Express locations are for-profit urgent care centers. The Maryland-based franchisor has awarded 113 franchises in 23 states, 38 of which are now open.

Brothers Emad and Mina Yousef own the Tampa center. The brothers already own and operate two independent pharmacies in the Tampa Bay area. A release says they hope to open several Doctors Express locations throughout Tampa Bay over the next several years.

Rick Kimsey, a former employee with Sprint PCS who opened the Gulf Coast's first Doctors Express, spoke to the Business Review in January (see “Express Success,” Jan. 14). He says he spent roughly $600,000 to open the location he now operates.
