Developer plans Starbucks for underserved area

SARASOTA — Benderson Development filed plans with the City of Sarasota for a Starbucks at 2455 N. Tamiami Tr., according to an article on YourObserver.com.

Benderson Director of Development Todd Mathes says in the article the company is confident investing in the North Trail. (The Sarasota Observer, where the article first appeared, is the sister paper of the Business Observer.)

North Trail Redevelopment Partnership Chairman Jay Patel says he was happy to see another new development coming to the area, according to the Observer article. Patel says are residents want to shine a light on the changing character of the North Trail, often characterized as blighted.

The property is .56 acres and the proposed building is 2,200 square feet.
