Commercial real estate brokerage firm Cushman & Wakefield has promoted a pair of its non-agent Florida executives to statewide roles.

Chris Owen has been elevated to Director of Research at Cushman & Wakefield, one of the nation’s three largest commercial real estate services firms.

In that role, he will oversee a team that produces in-depth research reports related to the economy, trends and commercial properties. Most recently, Owen has produced reports on the effects of the 2017 hurricane season, the impact on industrial real estate of so-called “last mile” delivery, population growth and the state’s warehouse workforce.

Larry Richey, the firm’s Florida market leader, says the Florida Research Team “has become a powerhouse that real estate professionals from every arena look to for guidance and insight.”

Owen joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2013. Most recently, he was Research Manager.

The company also promoted LaShawn Bates to Director of Financial Analysis for Florida, where she will lead a team of 10 analysts that provide insights into investment sales and acquisitions.

For the past decade, Bates has worked with the firm’s capital markets team, which is lead by Vice Chairman Mike Davis. In 2017, the team completed 32 transactions valued in excess of $3 billion.

Bates joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2008.
